S T A T E M E N T

Like Tarkovsky, I see images as a documentation of experienced time. I'm interested in the idea of a porous consciousness and its process of carving, filtering, arranging, and ultimately appropriating information. My work is informed by the perception of my surroundings, memories, fantasies, obsessions, and consumption habits, and moves toward a layered display of identity—or rather, non-identity: a phenomenon that merges the personal and the collective, the sacred and the seemingly banal, toward the inevitable collapse of an indulged, self-constructed landscape, where the broken pieces go on to form other meanings. My work, rather than an exercise in self-expression, tries to create spaces where the viewer and I can rest—where understanding no longer presses on the mind, and what remains is a felt encounter with the Logos.
